ソーシャルリンク:

Eric Berne was a Canadian-born psychiatrist and psychoanalyst who founded transactional analysis, a framework for understanding personality and social interaction. He is best known for the bestselling book Games People Play, which brought transactional analysis to a mass audience and strongly influenced psychotherapy, counseling, and popular psychology.

経歴と著者の歩み

Eric Berne, born Eric Lennard Bernstein in Montreal on May 10, 1910, grew up in a household shaped by both medicine and writing. His father was a physician and his mother a writer and editor, a combination that helps explain the dual character of his later work: clinically minded, yet unusually readable. He studied medicine at McGill University, earning his degree in 1935, and then moved to the United States for psychiatric training. After becoming an American citizen, he adopted the name Eric Berne. Service as an Army psychiatrist during the Second World War, followed by years of psychoanalytic study and practice, pushed him toward a central question that would define his career: how do people actually relate to one another in ordinary life?
