Learn how to reclaim your center from flying monkeys and narcissistic abuse. Explore nervous system regulation, hypervigilance, and healing the mind-body connection.

Narcissists are very good at control, but they are less good at improvising when control fails. By staying calm and refusing to react, you effectively remove the payoff for their behavior and reclaim your own sovereignty.
So the narcissist thought he had one with his two girl flying monkeys he has copying me and so I felt my center leave me for a bit then I went to a gym that they kicked me out of because of them to try to enroll again and yes they did let me. So u went to the gym when they were not there and instantly I felt my center back. But why that happened it’s like they started moving faster when they see me the girl did but he disappeared. Hasn’t posted has pulled back but I’m not responding. At all

Reclaiming your center is the process of reclamation where you regain your sense of self and physical space after being pushed out by narcissistic dynamics. Narcissistic abuse acts as a physiological injury that severs the mind-body connection, often leaving you in a state of hypervigilance. By returning to environments where you once felt unwelcome, you allow your body to re-regulate and prove that you can exist safely without the presence of the narcissist or their flying monkeys.
Dealing with narcissistic dynamics and flying monkeys often triggers a constant fight or flight mode. This chronic stress causes cortisol to flood your system, leading to a state of hypervigilance where your body feels like it is constantly holding its breath. This physiological injury makes it difficult to maintain your center, as your nervous system becomes stuck in a cycle of stress hormones. Understanding these biological responses is a key step in narcissistic abuse recovery.
The mind-body connection is vital because narcissistic abuse is more than just emotional; it is a physiological injury that impacts how your body functions. When you are around toxic individuals, your body may lose its center and enter a state of hypervigilance. Recovery involves re-regulating the nervous system and lowering cortisol levels to restore that connection. Taking back your physical space is a massive win for your nervous system and helps your body finally exhale and heal.
