Eric Berne (1910–1970) è stato uno psichiatra canadese-americano e uno psicologo pioniere che ha scritto l'opera fondamentale Analisi Transazionale in Psicoterapia, stabilendo la sua reputazione come creatore dell'Analisi Transazionale (AT).

Formatosi presso il New York Psychoanalytic Institute e influenzato da Paul Federn, Berne sviluppò l'AT dopo il suo rifiuto da parte dei circoli psicoanalitici tradizionali.
