James Islington è l'autore australiano bestseller di L'ombra di ciò che è perduto e una stella nascente della narrativa epic fantasy.

Nato nel 1981 e cresciuto nel Victoria, Islington è stato ispirato a scrivere dopo aver letto la serie Mistborn di Brandon Sanderson e Il nome del vento di Patrick Rothfuss.
