Lewis ont transformé des lieux réels, tels que la montagne Ben Bulben ou les montagnes de Mourne, en espaces mythiques ou fantastiques, prouvant que la géographie irlandaise possède une capacité de transformation qui nourrit l'imaginaire.
Dublin est une ville classée au patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO pour sa littérature, où les mots résonnent littéralement contre les briques rouges. Elle a vu naître ou étudier trois des quatre prix Nobel irlandais et abrite des institutions vivantes comme le Musée de la littérature moderne (MoLI).
