Richard Bachman est le pseudonyme de l'auteur de best-sellers d'horreur Stephen King, qui a écrit La Peau sur les os (Thinner) dans le cadre d'une expérience littéraire audacieuse visant à publier de manière plus prolifique et à explorer une fiction plus sombre et plus brute. Publié en 1984, La Peau sur les os est un thriller surnaturel qui examine les thèmes de la culpabilité, de la vengeance et de l'horreur corporelle à travers l'histoire d'un homme condamné à dépérir.
