John Grisham est l'auteur à succès de La Liste du juge et un maître des thrillers juridiques acclamé internationalement. Né en 1955 à Jonesboro, dans l'Arkansas, Grisham a exercé le droit dans le Mississippi et a siégé à la législature de l'État avant d'assister, en 1984, à un procès pour viol atroce qui a inspiré son premier roman, Non coupable.

Son expertise juridique et son expérience des tribunaux nourrissent profondément ses thrillers psychologiques, qui explorent les failles systémiques du système de justice pénale.
