Frank Ostaseski est l'auteur de The Five Invitations: Discovering What Death Can Teach Us About Living Fully et un pionnier des soins contemplatifs de fin de vie. Enseignant bouddhiste et expert internationalement respecté en matière de pleine conscience et de fin de vie, il a cofondé en 1987 le Zen Hospice Project, le premier hospice bouddhiste d'Amérique, où il a établi un modèle révolutionnaire de soins compatissants.

En 2005, il a fondé le Metta Institute, formant des milliers de cliniciens et de soignants à travers le monde.

Ostaseski a accompagné plus de 1 000 personnes tout au long du processus de la mort et a donné des conférences à la Harvard Medical School, à la Mayo Clinic, ainsi que dans de grandes entreprises comme Google et Apple.
