Anne Spencer Morrow Lindbergh (1906–2001) était une aviatrice de renom et l'auteure à succès de Gift from the Sea (La Mer est mon refuge). Elle mêlait intuition poétique et non-fiction introspective pour explorer les thèmes de la solitude, du mariage et de l'identité féminine.

Diplômée du Smith College et pionnière de l'aviation, Lindbergh a tracé des routes aériennes mondiales avec son mari, Charles Lindbergh. Ses mémoires d'aviation North to the Orient et Listen! The Wind ont établi sa voix littéraire.
