Vince Flynn (1966-2013) était l'auteur n°1 des meilleures ventes du New York Times pour Executive Power et le créateur de l'un des héros les plus emblématiques de la fiction contemporaine : l'agent antiterroriste de la CIA Mitch Rapp. Executive Power, publié en 2003, est le sixième volet de la célèbre série de thrillers politiques de Flynn, illustrant sa maîtrise des récits d'espionnage international à enjeux élevés, ancrés dans les tensions géopolitiques du monde réel.

Né à St. Paul, dans le Minnesota, Flynn a surmonté la dyslexie et plus de soixante lettres de refus pour auto-publier son premier roman Term Limits avant de décrocher un contrat de deux livres avec Pocket Books.

Sa série Mitch Rapp comprend treize romans — tous des best-sellers du New York Times — incluant des titres tels que Transfer of Power, Separation of Power, Consent to Kill, et American Assassin, qui a été adapté en long-métrage en 2017.
