Michael Crichton (1942-2008) était l'auteur à succès de Congo et l'un des romanciers de techno-thriller les plus accomplis de sa génération, renommé pour son mélange de recherches scientifiques méticuleuses et d'aventures palpitantes. Diplômé de la Harvard Medical School, où il a obtenu son doctorat en médecine avec la mention summa cum laude en 1969, Crichton a apporté une rigueur scientifique à la fiction populaire, rendant les technologies de pointe accessibles et passionnantes.
