Tim Spector

出生: July 14, 1958 – London, England, United Kingdom

Tim Spector is a British epidemiologist and professor of genetic epidemiology at King’s College London whose work spans genetics, the gut microbiome, nutrition, and personalized health. He founded TwinsUK, one of the world’s largest adult twin registries, and wrote The Diet Myth, Spoon-Fed, and Food for Life.

传记与作者历程

Tim Spector is a British epidemiologist, physician, and science writer whose career has moved from conventional medicine into some of the most visible public conversations about nutrition and health. Born in north London, he was educated at University College School and trained in medicine at St Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical School. After working as a doctor and rising to consultant level in rheumatology, he shifted in 1992 toward genetic epidemiology, a move that led to the creation of TwinsUK, the long-running twin registry he founded and still directs through King’s College London. That transition established the pattern of his career: using large human datasets to challenge assumptions about disease, inheritance, and everyday health.
