Born: December 01, 1975 – Wilmington, Delaware, United States
Dan Pfeiffer is an American political strategist, author, and podcast host focused on Democratic politics, campaign strategy, media, and disinformation. A former White House communications director for Barack Obama, he co-hosts Pod Save America and wrote Yes We (Still) Can, Un-Trumping America, and Battling the Big Lie; he is a New York Times bestselling author.
Dan Pfeiffer emerged from Democratic campaign politics before becoming one of Barack Obama’s longest-serving advisers. A native of Wilmington, Delaware, he graduated from Georgetown University and worked for Al Gore, Tom Daschle, Tim Johnson, and Evan Bayh before joining Obama’s presidential campaign at the outset. On the campaign he moved from traveling press secretary to communications director; in the White House he arrived in January 2009 as deputy communications director, became communications director later that year, and in 2013 was elevated to senior adviser for strategy and communications. Colleagues and official biographies have consistently described him as a strategist who helped widen the use of nontraditional and digital venues for presidential communication, an emphasis that would shape his later work in media and writing.
