Alice Feeney is a British novelist and former BBC journalist known for psychological thrillers centered on secrets, marriage, memory, and deception. Her notable books include Sometimes I Lie, His & Hers, and Rock Paper Scissors. Her fiction has been internationally bestselling and translated into more than 30 languages.
Alice Feeney came to fiction by way of journalism, and that route shaped both her material and her method. Born in 1978 and raised in Essex, she was an avid early reader with a taste for darker storytelling, and as a teenager she imagined a future in politics or reporting rather than in novels. At 21 she joined the BBC, where she spent roughly fifteen years working in news and production, absorbing the pressures of real events and the discipline of concise, high-impact narrative. A later turning point came with Faber Academy’s Writing a Novel course, which she has described as transformative in helping her think more seriously and more rigorously about structure, editing, and feedback.
