    The somatic shake is a powerful, honest reflex from your nervous system that occurs after a psychological boundary violation. It is your body's physical way of saying that the emotional toxic waste being offloaded onto you does not belong to you. This shaking sensation is a sign of health, indicating that your body is fighting to stay separate from family mess and is attempting to regulate itself after a stressful interaction.

    Feeling like you are going to throw up is a physiological reaction to being forced to digest emotions that aren't yours. When a family member uses you to regulate themselves by offloading their stress, it creates a physiological stress response. While narcissistic family members may label you as too sensitive or dramatic, this physical sensation is actually your body detecting a threat that your brain is still trying to rationalize.

    Family emotional dumping occurs when a relative offloads their emotional toxic waste onto you to regulate their own state. This process triggers a nervous system response where your body may feel the need to shudder or shake things off your skin. It is a physiological reaction to a psychological boundary violation, serving as a signal that your nervous system is trying to reject emotions and stressors that were unfairly placed upon you.
