La sociocratie est l'art de gouverner entre associés ou compagnons, une approche systémique développée dans les années 70 par l'ingénieur néerlandais Gérard Endenburg. Comme l'explique Miles, ce modèle permet aux personnes impactées par une décision d'influencer réellement le processus. Contrairement au système pyramidal classique, la sociocratie vise à organiser la structure pour que le pouvoir ne soit plus exercé de façon arbitraire, mais partagé entre les membres de l'organisation.
Dans ce podcast, Nia précise que le consentement remplace le pouvoir absolu du patron. On ne cherche pas nécessairement à ce que tout le monde adore une idée, mais plutôt à vérifier si quelqu'un a une objection valable. Une objection est considérée comme un cadeau car elle signale un risque potentiel pour l'objectif commun. Cela permet d'éviter les décisions absurdes imposées d'en haut et garantit que personne n'a le dernier mot de manière arbitraire.
La sociocratie n'est pas qu'une théorie, c'est une méthode appliquée par des organisations sérieuses qui cherchent à dépasser le modèle managérial traditionnel. Nia mentionne notamment des structures comme la FDJ ou le cabinet OCTO Technology. Ces entreprises adoptent la gouvernance partagée et le management collaboratif parce que le modèle pyramidal classique s'essouffle et ne répond plus aux besoins d'agilité et d'implication des collaborateurs dans les projets importants.
