    L'atrophie intellectuelle survient lorsque nous déléguons systématiquement la réflexion, la synthèse et la résolution de problèmes à une machine. Le cerveau fonctionne comme un muscle : sans la "friction" cognitive nécessaire à l'apprentissage (faire des erreurs, chercher des solutions, structurer sa pensée), les capacités critiques et logiques s'affaiblissent. En sautant l'étape de l'effort pour obtenir un résultat immédiat, on finit par perdre la compréhension des mécanismes sous-jacents, devenant ainsi incapable de juger si les réponses de l'IA sont correctes ou erronées.

    L'IA est extrêmement efficace pour exécuter des tâches, comme rédiger un rapport ou créer un plan, ce qui donne une illusion de compétence. Cependant, le développement d'une compétence réelle nécessite de passer par le processus de création. Si l'on délègue la rédaction, on perd le moment crucial où l'on structure sa pensée et où l'on confronte ses idées. À long terme, cela crée des individus capables d'utiliser des outils, mais dépourvus de la profondeur théorique nécessaire pour innover ou corriger l'outil en cas de bug ou d'erreur logique.

    L'IA tend vers un "centrisme algorithmique" en proposant souvent les réponses les plus probables et consensuelles basées sur des données passées. Cela peut lisser la pensée humaine et réduire la diversité des idées. De plus, la performance de l'outil entraîne souvent une baisse de la vigilance humaine, un phénomène appelé "effet de complaisance envers l'automatisation". En nous habituant à des réponses "clés en main", nous perdons l'habitude de questionner les sources, de détecter les sophismes et de cultiver une étincelle originale qui sort des sentiers battus par les algorithmes.

    Pour maintenir une "souveraineté intellectuelle", il est conseillé d'adopter la règle du "brouillon d'abord" : poser ses propres idées sur papier avant de solliciter l'IA. On peut ensuite utiliser la machine comme un "partenaire de sparring" en lui demandant de jouer l'avocat du diable ou de trouver des angles morts, plutôt que de lui demander une solution finale. Il est également essentiel de pratiquer la "déconnexion stratégique" et de continuer à effectuer des tâches complexes sans assistance pour entretenir ses circuits neuronaux et sa capacité de concentration.
