Unlike schools, libraries don't discriminate by age, aren't compulsory, and impose no regulations on what or how to learn.
Freedom drives educators like Scott Evans and Gabriel Cooper, who created UnSchool San Juan in 2017 - a radical public school with no grades, tests, or homework. Students work in multiage, interest-based groups rather than traditional grade levels, with access to makerspaces, tools, and community mentors.
