What is the "Eastern Route" and why is it considered so dangerous?

The Eastern Route is a major migration path primarily used by Ethiopians traveling through Djibouti or Somalia, across the Gulf of Aden, and into Yemen, with the ultimate goal of reaching Gulf States like Saudi Arabia.
