The enemy is, at his core, a legalist; he’s just a squatter now, trying to convince you he still owns the building when the legal right was stripped at the cross. Once you stop agreeing with the curse, the programming starts to lose its signal.

In a spiritual sense, the enemy is viewed as a legalist who requires an "open door" or a cause to land a curse. Legal grounds are established when an individual submits to unholy authority, enters into ungodly alignments, or participates in occult practices—even if they do so unknowingly while seeking God. These "contracts" give an abuser or a spiritual entity a perceived right to influence a person’s mind, peace, and destiny. Breaking free requires systematically identifying these access points and formally canceling the "contract" through the authority of Christ.

A healthy leader welcomes questions, promotes personal autonomy, and points followers toward a direct relationship with God. In contrast, a religious narcissist uses "spiritual coercion" to place themselves at the center of a believer's life, often demanding blind obedience and using fear of excommunication or "word curses" to maintain control. They frequently employ "dichotomous thinking," labeling anyone who leaves or questions them as a rebel or an enemy. If a leader uses scripture to isolate you, extract your resources, or justify abuse, they are operating as a "wolf in sheep’s clothing" rather than a servant of God.

The eviction process begins with "counsel," which involves bringing the abuse into the light to strip it of its power of secrecy. This is followed by a "prayer of renunciation," where you out loud disown any past agreements with the abuser or their practices. The third step involves "casting out" spirits of fear or confusion by commanding them to leave in the name of Jesus. Finally, one must break "unholy soul ties" and bloodline patterns, replacing the "programming" of the abuser with daily declarations of biblical truth to ensure the "squatter" cannot return to the empty space.

Forgiveness is not about excusing the abuser’s crimes or letting them off the hook; rather, it is a strategic move to "shut the door" in the enemy's face. Unforgiveness acts as a "legal anchor" that keeps a victim tied to their tormentor, allowing the enemy to maintain a foothold in the victim's emotions. By forgiving, you hand the abuser over to God’s justice and cut the spiritual rope connecting you to them. This releases the power the abuser has to continue tormenting your thoughts and reclaiming your internal peace.

Abusers often use "flying monkeys" or agents who appear to be "nice" but carry a "word assignment" intended to create doubt and confusion. To handle this, you must "guard the gates" of your life by limiting or cutting off contact with those tied to the abusive environment. Recognizing that "confusion is not from God" allows you to identify these interactions as tactics of spiritual gaslighting. By choosing "accountability over secrecy" with a new, safe community and refusing to engage with those who trigger fear, you starve the "programming" of the signal it needs to operate.
