Unlike Solomon who stumbled before reaching the finish line, we're called to "finish the course regardless of hardships, detours, or setbacks" and maintain our enthusiasm and passion. Like Paul who fought the good fight and kept the faith, we're encouraged to complete the race God has placed before us. "With Jesus in control, you can't help but end well." God's sovereignty brings peace in knowing "the results are in the Lord's hands." We can take comfort in realizing that at each step of life, we were exactly where we were supposed to be, for "there is no one like you, and there is no God but you." Finishing well means creating "an ending that displays the Lord's goodness, majesty, love" and ensuring "that Jesus was glorified in my life, even if just a little." Our daily aim should be glorifying God, not self. A good ending might be measured by "a long, long line" at one's funeral, where others can say "they saw Christ's love and perfection through my brokenness." Like David who "served God's purpose in his own generation," we must first serve our own generation to leave a legacy for future ones. "Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret." Finishing well means accepting yourself and your life-"the good, the bad, and the ugly"-and knowing "I didn't have to be perfect to be loved, because I have been perfectly loved the whole time." Many women long to hear "Well done, good and faithful servant!" at life's end. True finishing well means walking the walk and talking the talk, loving like Jesus until our last breath, and ending "with more faith than when I started!" "Today is a good place to begin finishing well." The queen of Sheba's legacy shows us how to make the most of each day: studying, pursuing, asking, listening, marveling, speaking truth, encouraging, and praising the Lord. We aspire to be women "clothed with strength and dignity" who can "laugh at the days to come."
