生年: October 04, 1941 – New Orleans, Louisiana, United States
Anne Rice was an American novelist best known for Gothic, horror, and supernatural fiction, especially The Vampire Chronicles and Interview with the Vampire. Writing also as A. N. Roquelaure and Anne Rampling, she helped revive modern vampire literature; her books sold tens of millions of copies and inspired major screen adaptations.
Anne Rice was born in New Orleans in 1941 and grew up in a family shaped by Irish Catholic culture, loss, and frequent change. After her mother died when she was young, her childhood became marked by both emotional upheaval and a strong imaginative inwardness. Her family later moved to Texas, and she attended college there before continuing her studies in San Francisco, where she married the poet and painter Stan Rice. That combination of Southern Catholic memory, formal study, and artistic partnership helped define the atmosphere of her later fiction: sensuous, intellectual, and preoccupied with guilt, beauty, mortality, and belief.
