Marcus Aurelius practiced these principles while managing the Roman Empire, while Epictetus applied them after surviving thirty years of slavery. Seneca also utilized Stoic techniques while enduring natural catastrophes and exile. Their collective wisdom forms a playbook for mental health that remains relevant today, proving that modern stress is not as unprecedented as we might believe.
