    当一个人产生“想要修行”的念头时,这个“想要”往往源于一种贪欲,即想要达成某种完美的境界或获得某种成就感。这种心态会让人陷入“造作”的陷阱,使身体和精神变得紧绷、僵硬,从而偏离了自然觉知的轨道。尊者强调,修行不应是为了满足欲望的表演,而应是因为这件事“值得做”而成为生活的一种常态。真正的修行是识破那个“想要”的念头,让心回归到自然的、如实观照的状态。

    尊者建议将修行分为“固定形式练习”和“日常生活中的培养”。每天可以抽出十五分钟进行固定练习,如观呼吸或念诵佛号,其目的不是追求宁静,而是训练捕捉“心跑掉”的能力。在剩下的时间里,可以利用零碎时间(如等车、洗澡、喝咖啡)来觉知当下的感官接触或情绪起伏。只要能像旁观者一样意识到“心跑去想事情了”或“嗔心生起了”,就是在累积觉知的力量,这种方法被称为“刹那定”,非常适合没有时间长时间闭关的现代人。

    根据隆波帕默尊者传承的“心的四圣谛”,只要心离开了安住的本位去抓取任何对象,无论是沉溺于外在的名利,还是在打坐时强行盯着呼吸,都属于“心往外送”。这种抓取和粘着会导致心失去平衡,从而产生压力和苦。修行并不是要让人变成不闻不问的木头人,而是要训练心在接触声音、画面或念头时,能够及时觉知到心的“跑动”和“粘着”,让心自动回归到安住且中立的“知者”状态。

    在修行的初级阶段,我们需要建立一个“知者”来观察身心的运作,从而体证“五蕴非我”。但到了极细腻的阶段,如果修行者开始执着于这个清明、宁静的“知者”,将其视为永恒的靠山,就会产生新的执着(灵性虚荣)。尊者引用隆布敦长老的教导指出,必须识破连这个“知者”也是无常、苦、无我的。只有彻底放下对“知者”和“心”的最后一点微细执取,心才能从所有的造作中解脱,契入真正的涅槃。

    尊者指出,临终时“惯行业”(平时做得最多的习惯)往往会先结账。如果平时缺乏正念,心在临终可能会抓取负面的素材导致不好的去向。通过长期的觉知训练,修行者可以培养出“自动生起的正念”,甚至在噩梦或临终的混乱境界中也能自动觉醒,将恶境转为善境。这种被称为“小须陀洹”的状态,就像是一个自动防御系统,能让修行者在面对生命最后时刻时,拥有自主选择权而非随业流转。
