    Foire aux questions

Coaching caricatures are predictable, cliche patterns that coaches often fall into, such as the Hardass, the Cheerleader, or the Best Buddy. While these roles are often adopted with good intentions, they can feel cheesy and ultimately undermine the professional relationship. By playing a character instead of coaching authentically, you create friction that prevents the client from making real progress toward their personal or professional development.

Focusing strictly on outcome goals, such as hitting a specific sales number or losing a set amount of weight, can actually sabotage the coaching process. Because these outcomes are often outside of a client's direct control, failing to meet them can make the client feel like a failure even if they did everything right. This obsession with results over process often hinders the development of true, sustainable confidence.

Behavioral goals shift the focus from unpredictable outcomes to specific actions that the client can actually control. When coaching moves beyond the cliche and prioritizes these manageable behaviors, it changes the dynamic of the relationship. By achieving these controllable milestones, clients are able to build genuine confidence and see real progress without the frustration associated with factors outside of their immediate influence.
