Nia: Oye, Miles, fíjate que el otro día estaba leyendo el caso de un hombre, Raúl, que está en una situación que me dejó pensando muchísimo. Él vive con una chica mucho más joven, es el proveedor de todo, pero dice que solo son "amigos". Lo más fuerte es que cuando él intenta acercarse o hay algún roce, ella se pone súper agresiva, se encierra, le tira cosas... pero luego, de la nada, solo se pone bien si hablan de comprar un carro juntos.

Miles: Es que, a ver, lo que me cuentas suena a un manual de red flags. O sea, por un lado tienes esa agresividad física y el aislamiento, que ya de por sí son señales de una relación muy dañada, y por otro, esa manipulación con el tema del carro. Hay una experta, Beatriz Pujante, que explica justo eso: cuando alguien usa el interés material o el chantaje para conseguir lo que quiere, no es amor, es un mecanismo de control puro y duro.

Nia: Tal cual, y lo peor es que Raúl contaba que hasta le pegó en juego y ella reaccionó fatal. Él se siente mal, pero ella parece que solo lo busca cuando hay dinero de por medio. O sea, al final del día, él está atrapado en una dinámica donde ella pone muros y solo abre la puerta si hay un beneficio económico.

Miles: Claro, y ojo con esto, porque en el material que estuve revisando mencionan que el aislamiento y el control del dinero son formas de maltrato psicológico que a veces ni vemos. Lo curioso es que ella está casada, se encierra en el cuarto y lo agrede, pero el carro es "lo único que la hace sentir bien". Para entender esto hay que empezar por desmenuzar cómo se construye ese desequilibrio de poder en la casa.
