Adare Manor was built by the 2nd Earl of Dunraven starting in 1831, featuring a calendar-inspired design that includes 365 windows and 52 chimneys to represent the days and weeks of the year. The Earl, who suffered from gout and could not participate in traditional noble outdoor activities like hunting, channeled his energy into this massive architectural project. He famously built the new manor as a shell around his family's existing home, only demolishing the old structure once the new one was nearly complete.
