Albert Camus (1913–1960), philosophe et auteur franco-algérien lauréat du prix Nobel, a consolidé son héritage avec Le Mythe de Sisyphe, un texte fondateur de la philosophie de l'absurde. Voix de premier plan de la pensée existentialiste du XXe siècle, Camus a exploré les thèmes de la révolte, de la moralité et de la quête de sens de l'humanité dans un univers indifférent.

Son parcours académique en philosophie à l'Université d'Alger et ses expériences en tant que rédacteur en chef du journal antifasciste Combat pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale ont profondément nourri ses critiques du totalitarisme et du nihilisme.

Reconnu pour son alliage de virtuosité littéraire et de rigueur philosophique, l'œuvre de Camus comprend des classiques tels que L'Étranger, La Peste et L'Homme révolté, qui interrogent les dilemmes éthiques et la condition humaine.
