Elin Hilderbrand est l'autrice à succès de The Hotel Nantucket et est largement connue comme « la reine des lectures de plage ». Née en 1969, cette diplômée de l'Université Johns Hopkins a façonné 29 romans se déroulant principalement sur l'île de Nantucket, où elle vit depuis 1993.

Sa fiction contemporaine mêle romance, mystère et études de personnages complexes de la vie estivale, s'inspirant de sa connaissance intime de la culture et des sites emblématiques de l'île.
