Michael Coleman Talbot (1953–1992) était l'auteur de L'Univers Holographique et un écrivain novateur qui a fait le pont entre la physique quantique, le mysticisme ancien et les études sur la conscience. Publié en 1991, l'ouvrage examine la théorie révolutionnaire selon laquelle la réalité elle-même pourrait être holographique, en s'appuyant sur les recherches du physicien David Bohm et du neurophysiologiste Karl Pribram.

Le travail de Talbot propose que les phénomènes paranormaux tels que la PES (perception extrasensorielle) et la télépathie sont des conséquences naturelles de ce modèle holographique, offrant un cadre scientifique pour comprendre la conscience et la spiritualité.

Né à Grand Rapids, dans le Michigan, Talbot a commencé comme romancier de fiction et d'horreur, écrivant des œuvres acclamées par la critique, notamment The Delicate Dependency (1982).
