Sheldon Allan Silverstein (1930-1999) est l'auteur bien-aimé de L'Arbre au grand cœur (The Giving Tree), un classique de la littérature jeunesse explorant l'amour inconditionnel, le sacrifice et la relation complexe entre celui qui donne et celui qui reçoit.

Né et élevé à Chicago, Silverstein était un artiste aux multiples facettes — caricaturiste, poète, auteur-compositeur et interprète — dont le mélange unique d'humour et de profondeur émotionnelle a résonné auprès des lecteurs de tous âges.
