Steven D. Levitt, auteur à succès de SuperFreakonomics : Rien n'est ce qu'il paraît et économiste primé, a révolutionné l'économie populaire grâce à son exploration des schémas sociétaux cachés basée sur les données. Professeur titulaire de la chaire William B. Ogden à l'Université de Chicago, Levitt a cofondé le blog et la série de livres Freakonomics, mêlant économie comportementale, sociologie et analyse contre-intuitive pour remettre en question les conventions.
