Len Bass est le co-auteur de Software Architecture in Practice et un expert de renommée mondiale en architecture logicielle, fort de plus de 50 ans d'expérience dans le développement de logiciels. Ancien chercheur au Software Engineering Institute (SEI) de l'Université Carnegie Mellon, où il a passé 25 ans à faire progresser le domaine, Bass détient un doctorat en informatique de l'Université Purdue et a joué un rôle déterminant dans le développement de méthodologies fondamentales telles que l'Architecture Tradeoff Analysis Method (ATAM).
