William Kent Krueger est l'auteur lauréat du prix Edgar pour Ordinary Grace et un romancier policier célèbre, réputé pour ses intrigues à suspense littéraire d'une grande profondeur émotionnelle. Né en 1950 et ayant grandi dans les montagnes Cascade de l'Oregon, les diverses expériences de vie de Krueger — de l'exploitation forestière à la recherche sur le développement de l'enfant à l'Université du Minnesota — nourrissent ses récits aux multiples facettes.

Ordinary Grace, un mystère initiatique indépendant se déroulant dans le Minnesota de 1961, explore les thèmes profonds de la foi, du pardon, du deuil et de la perte de l'innocence à travers les yeux d'un garçon de treize ans confronté à un été de tragédies.

Krueger est également l'auteur de la série de mystères Cork O'Connor, qui compte plus de 20 romans se déroulant dans les bois du nord du Minnesota, et de This Tender Land, un roman compagnon d'Ordinary Grace devenu un best-seller du New York Times.
