Ayesha Siddiqa, née en 1966 à Lahore, est l'auteure de Military Inc.: Inside Pakistan's Military Economy et une politologue de premier plan spécialisée dans les relations civilo-militaires et l'économie de la défense.

Titulaire d'un doctorat en études de guerre du King's College de Londres, elle est devenue la première femme civile à occuper le poste de directrice de la recherche navale au sein de la marine pakistanaise, bénéficiant ainsi d'un accès privilégié unique à l'institution militaire.

Ses recherches examinent l'économie politique du pouvoir militaire, s'appuyant sur un travail de terrain approfondi et son expérience dans la fonction publique.
