Laurie Halse Anderson, née le 23 octobre 1961 à Potsdam, New York, est une auteure primée, renommée pour sa littérature percutante destinée aux jeunes adultes.

Son roman historique Fever 1793 dépeint avec vivacité l'épidémie de fièvre jaune de 1793 à Philadelphie, mêlant des recherches méticuleuses à des thèmes de résilience et de survie. L'expertise d'Anderson dans la création de récits abordant des questions complexes provient de sa formation en langues et en linguistique, ainsi que de son début de carrière en tant que journaliste indépendante.
