By pulling three levers, we could transform the system: first, creating a Citizens Fund distributing universal basic dividends from fees on wealth extraction and commons use; second, regulating finance to invest in addressing inequality and climate change; and third, cancelling unfair debt like the $900 billion burdening low-income nations. These changes would redirect assets from the financial sector back to producers, consumers, and governments while supporting natural and social capital.
To build a wellbeing economy, citizens must benefit from their commons through compensation for their enclosure.
