Emily Everett est l'autrice de All That Life Can Afford, un premier roman d'apprentissage tendu et lyrique sur les classes sociales, l'identité et la mobilité sociale au sein de l'élite londonienne. Éditrice et écrivaine originaire de l'ouest du Massachusetts, Everett a grandi dans une petite ferme laitière familiale — un parcours qui influence profondément son exploration des inégalités économiques et du rêve américain. Elle s'appuie sur sa propre expérience d'études à l'étranger et de tutorat pour des familles fortunées au Royaume-Uni entre 2009 et 2013, période durant laquelle se déroule le roman, dans l'ère post-Brexit.

Everett occupe le poste de rédactrice en chef de The Common, une revue littéraire basée à l'Amherst College, où elle édite de la fiction et anime le podcast de la revue.
