C'est souvent une manière de tester le terrain pour voir si vous allez vous justifier, ce qui lui permet de reprendre le pouvoir émotionnel. En vous désignant comme la "mauvaise partenaire", il valide aussi son choix de rupture et évite de se remettre en question.

    La meilleure réponse est de rester calme et détachée en refusant de porter cette fausse culpabilité. Il est conseillé de ne pas entrer dans un débat sur les faits, mais de poser sa vérité sans agressivité, par exemple en disant : « Je regrette que tu aies eu ce sentiment, mais ma porte était ouverte si tu avais exprimé un besoin ». L'objectif est de comprendre que ce reproche dit tout de ses blocages internes et rien sur votre valeur réelle.
