Learn how the work-home resources model and ATP levels impact the entrepreneur dad. Boost your energy and capacity to lead your family and business effectively.

If God gave you the business and the family, he expects you to have the capacity to lead both. Being burned out isn't the price of admission for success; it's a sign that you’re operating without margin.
I am a coach that helps burned out entrepreneur Christian Dad’s reignite their purpose by creating morning and evening routines and allowing them to be present minded with their family. I’m creating a course and one of my modules is energy maxing. Can you give me course material that I can use for that module?

The work-home resources model suggests that an entrepreneur dad has finite levels of energy, attention, and patience. When these resources are fully consumed by business tasks or product launches, the individual returns home physically and cognitively bankrupt. This depletion makes it difficult to remain present for family life, as the capacity to handle work and home demands has effectively shrunk, leaving the father with insufficient resources to engage with his children.
ATP is the molecule responsible for providing the energy necessary for both physical and cognitive functions. For an entrepreneur dad, being 'tired' is often a sign of being depleted of these essential molecules. Without sufficient ATP, a father lacks the actual biological capacity to transition from a high-stress work environment to being a present, active parent. Managing these energy levels is crucial for maintaining the stamina required for both professional and family responsibilities.
For a Christian father, energy management is more than just a productivity hack; it is a matter of stewardship. If God has provided both a business and a family, the father is expected to maintain the capacity to lead both spheres effectively. Falling into cognitive depletion or exhaustion is seen as a failure to manage the resources God has given. Proper stewardship involves boosting one's capacity to ensure that neither the business nor the family is neglected due to burnout.
Cognitive depletion often manifests as a 'glazed look' and a lack of presence, even when physically at home. An entrepreneur dad might find himself staring at a screen like a smartphone on one percent battery while his children seek his attention. This state of being 'physically and cognitively bankrupt' indicates that his capacity to handle work has diminished, leaving him unable to engage in simple activities like a game of tag due to a lack of mental and physical energy.
