Miles: Absolutely, Lena. And what's fascinating is that despite controlling about $10 trillion in assets - that's a third of all U.S. household financial assets - women are still significantly less likely to invest than men. Only about 36% of women are investing compared to 63% of men.
Lena: Wait, seriously? That gap is huge! And it's not because women are bad investors, right? I've actually heard the opposite.
Miles: You've heard correctly! Research consistently shows women outperform men as investors by about 0.4% annually. Women tend to be more thoughtful, less reactive, and take a longer-term approach. Yet the financial industry was literally built by men, for men - only 32% of financial advisors in the U.S. are women.
Lena: That explains so much about why many women feel disconnected from the whole investing conversation. You know what's wild though? By 2030, women are expected to control nearly 45% of U.S. retail financial assets. That's a massive shift!
