Dieser 1985 veröffentlichte Debütroman führte Alex Delaware ein, einen Kinderpsychologen, der zum Kriminalberater wurde – ein Charakter, der aus Kellermans eigener Erfahrung bei der Behandlung von Kindern in Krankenhäusern in Los Angeles entstand.
