Kernthemen in Die magischen Kanäle

  • sensory ratio shifts
  • global village
  • hot and cold media
  • technological determinism
  • extension of man

Zitate aus Die magischen Kanäle

  • Societies have always been shaped more by the nature of the media by which men communicate than by the content of the communication.

  • Once a new technology comes into a social milieu it cannot cease to permeate that milieu until every institution is saturated.

  • Media impact has made prisons without walls for users who docilely accept it.

Über den Autor

Über den Autor von Die magischen Kanäle

Herbert Marshall McLuhan (1911–1980), Autor von Understanding Media: The Extensions of Man (dt.
