Andrew S. Grove

Geboren: September 02, 1936 – Budapest, Budapest, Hungary

Andrew S. Grove was a Hungarian-born American engineer, executive, and author whose writing focused on management, strategy, and technology leadership. Best known for High Output Management and Only the Paranoid Survive, he helped lead Intel’s rise as its CEO and chairman, shaping modern semiconductor strategy and becoming an influential voice in business leadership.

Biografie & Werdegang des Autors

Andrew S. Grove, widely known as Andy Grove, was born András István Gróf in Budapest in 1936 and came of age under extraordinary pressure. He survived the Nazi occupation as a child, then fled Hungary after the 1956 uprising and arrived in the United States as a refugee with limited English and little money. Those early dislocations shaped both his ambition and his distrust of complacency. He studied chemical engineering at the City College of New York, graduating in 1960, and later earned a Ph.D. at the University of California, Berkeley. The young immigrant who had been forced to adapt quickly became, by training and temperament, a builder of systems: analytical, disciplined, and relentlessly concerned with what actually worked.
