Michael Masterson
Michael Masterson is the former pen name of Mark Ford, an American business writer focused on entrepreneurship, wealth building, and direct-response copywriting. His notable books include Ready, Fire, Aim and Automatic Wealth. Several titles became Wall Street Journal, New York Times, or Amazon bestsellers, and he also helped shape copywriting education through AWAI.

Michael Masterson is the pen name under which Mark Morgan Ford became widely known as a writer on business, persuasion, and wealth. He grew up in Brooklyn and began publishing early, selling a homemade booklet to classmates at age 12. His formal study centered on English literature at Queens College and later the University of Michigan; he also pursued doctoral work at Catholic University without finishing the dissertation. A formative turn came in the mid-1970s, when Peace Corps service in Chad had him teaching English literature and philosophy at the University of Chad and producing a newsletter for fellow volunteers.
