Mel Robbins is an American author and podcast host focused on personal growth, mindset, relationships, and behavior change. She is best known for The 5 Second Rule, The High 5 Habit, The Let Them Theory, and The Mel Robbins Podcast. Her books have sold millions of copies and been translated into more than 65 languages.
Mel Robbins built her public career from an unlikely mix of law, media, and personal reinvention. Born in Kansas City and raised in North Muskegon, Michigan, she studied at Dartmouth College and earned a law degree from Boston College Law School. She began as a criminal defense attorney and later became known on television as a CNN legal analyst. Those early roles established her as a clear, direct communicator, but the decisive turning point in her life came later, when she has said she was in her early forties, unemployed, deeply in debt, and struggling to get herself moving each day. Out of that period came the simple countdown technique that would define much of her work.
