LeeAnn Renninger emerged from academic psychology rather than a conventional literary path. She earned a PhD in psychology from the University of Vienna, where she studied differences between good and great communicators, and later described her own specialty in terms of idea transfer, rapid skill acquisition, and leadership development. A decisive turning point came when she and Tania Luna asked whether workplaces could function as hands-on learning labs for life’s most useful people skills. That question became LifeLabs Learning, the company Renninger co-founded and helped shape into a research-driven training organization.
