Kenneth H. Blanchard is an American management and leadership author known for practical workplace guidance, especially situational leadership and managerial effectiveness. He coauthored The One Minute Manager and wrote or cowrote more than 65 books, including Raving Fans!; his books have sold over 21 million copies worldwide.
Kenneth H. Blanchard emerged from an academic foundation before becoming one of the best-known writers in modern management. Born in Orange, New Jersey, in 1939, he earned a BA in government and philosophy from Cornell University in 1961, an MA in sociology and counseling from Colgate University in 1963, and a PhD in education administration and leadership from Cornell in 1967. After teaching at Ohio University, he spent 1970 to 1976 on the faculty at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. A major early turning point came with Management of Organizational Behavior, the 1969 text he coauthored with Paul Hersey, which introduced the Situational Leadership model.
