Jonathan Cahn
Jonathan Cahn is an American Messianic Jewish rabbi and author whose work blends biblical prophecy, Judaism, and contemporary cultural commentary. He is best known for The Harbinger and other New York Times bestsellers, including The Mystery of the Shemitah and The Return of the Gods, which have reached wide Christian audiences.
Biography & Author's Journey
Jonathan Cahn’s public life began in ministry before it became a publishing career. Raised in a Reform Jewish home, he has described an upbringing shaped by Hebrew school, a largely secular household, and an early fascination with questions of God, history, and truth. By his own account, childhood skepticism gave way to a period of intense self-education, during which he read widely in science, religion, and prophetic material. A near-fatal train collision at nineteen became the decisive turning point. Soon afterward he committed himself to Christian ministry, and in 1988 he accepted leadership of the congregation that became Beth Israel, after first leading Bible studies and outreach to homeless people in New York.
