Born: February 07, 1969 – Princeton, New Jersey, United States
Ben Mezrich is an American author known for fast-paced narrative nonfiction about technology, finance, gambling, and entrepreneurship. His best-known books include Bringing Down the House, The Accidental Billionaires, and Bitcoin Billionaires. Several of his works inspired major films, notably 21 and The Social Network, broadening his cultural impact.
Ben Mezrich emerged from a background that combined elite academic training with unusually early literary drive. Raised in Princeton, New Jersey, he went on to graduate magna cum laude from Harvard, where he was already writing novels, drawing cartoons for The Harvard Crimson, and contributing to The Harvard Independent. After college he stayed in Boston and wrote obsessively, finishing manuscript after manuscript before finding a durable readership. That long apprenticeship mattered: although he began in fiction, his career took shape when he moved toward a cinematic form of reported storytelling that blended journalistic research with the pacing, dialogue, and momentum of a thriller.
